K. Sadie Ford

HBSC, R.AC, R.TCMP
(EAST MEETS WEST HEALTH)

K. Sadie Ford earned her H.BSc at the University of Guelph in 2005. Over the next few years, Sadie expanded her repertoir in the health and fitness industry through personal training, fitness instructing, Pilates (mat and props), Yoga (Hatha, Ashtanga and Yin), and TRX certifications. The first addition to the health services field came in 2009 with the completion of a Foot Reflexology Certification through the Ontario College of Reflexology. In 2013, she completed her Registered Acupuncturist program; 2014 brought the completion of her Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioner designation (Herbal therapy); and finally, her Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine diploma in 2015. Sadie then traveled to China to further her studies. Sadie has returned to Guelph after residing in Victoria, B.c. for the past seven years where she practiced all of the above through the health services department of Goodlife Fitness where her client base numbered over 200 patients!

Sadie is a self-professed body nerd who will never stop learning! In her spare time, she’ll be outside or in the kitchen. Make, bake, sew, and grow! Anything that gets her hands dirty. Outside you’ll find her on a hike or going camping; growing up in Muskoka had its perks!

DR. ALYSSA SHEPHERD

CHIROPRACTOR

Dr. Alyssa completed a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science at the University of Waterloo. There she conducted research to study the impact of maternal diet on the metabolic processes in pregnant rats and their pups, and how this could tie in to expression of future health and disease. Afterward she attended the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and is now a fully licensed chiropractor and member of the  College of Chiropractors of Ontario. Though initially she planned on being a ballet chiropractor, she soon changed her mind.

Having always been drawn to pregnancy and babies, Dr. Alyssa found herself gravitating back toward this area in her later years of study. While meditating in fourth year she had an instant of clear-knowing that these areas would be a  main emphasis of her practice. Dr. Alyssa is certified in the  Webster Technique which she uses for pregnant women, and is a  fully trained birth doula. Additionally, she is an acupuncture provider and holds certification in Neuro Emotional Technique. Dr. Alyssa has further completed rigorous studies in prenatal and perinatal psychology and health through the  Association for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health and is a certified Prenatal and Perinatal Educator.
